KBR Nigeria probe spreads

The investigation of KBR for allegedly paying bribes to win contracts on the Bonny LNG plant in Nigeria has spread to the UK.The Halliburton unit is under investigation by the UK's Serious Fraud Office (SFO) over the US 170m scandal. The SFO said it had carried out searches at business and residential premises as part of the probe into KBR. It is by no means the only company in the world under investigation for such practices but it has come under the spotlight as for part of the period under investigation, Halliburton was headed by Dick Cheney, the US vice-president.
