ChevronTexaco is hoping for first oil from a new leased FPSO development in Block 14 offshore Angola, potentially by 2008.The company is looking at the Negage and Gabela fields which are in the south of the block distant from the other finds.The current plan is for first oil in the 2008-2010 time range with plateau production of 40,000 b/d. ChevTex has previously made initial inquiries for a leased FPSO but this is the first time it has given a first oil date.
