Gazprom plans LNG unit

Russia's gas major Gazprom wants to create an international consortium to supply the US market with LNG from a US 10 Bn project by midyear.Gazprom risks missing its window of opportunity to supply energy-hungry US markets if a Barents Sea LNG project is further delayed, Gazprom Deputy CEO Alexander Ryazanov told reporters in Moscow. "We need to hurry. If it keeps dragging on, we'll lose our momentum. If the consortium isn't finalised by mid year, then we won't make it," said Ryazanov.
