Total and GdF Suez will spend around US $1 Bn for a 25% stake in the Khvalynskoye gas field in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea, according to Total's top executive. Total will have a 17% stake in the field and GdF Suez will have 8%, Total boss Christophe de Margerie told reporters during a visit by French President Nicolas Sarkozy to Kazakhstan.
