Oil & Gas UK has welcomed the Energy and Climate Change Committee's first report and "the government's continued willingness to engage with the industry on finding ways to maximise the economic recovery of the UK's oil and gas reserves." Mike Tholen, Oil & Gas UK's economics director, warned, however, that investment will continue to dip if the tax burden on operators is not reduced.
