Dayrates lift Noble results

Driller Noble Corp benefited from rising dayrates in the second quarter of this year to report net income for the quarter of US 179.8m on operating revenue of 517.5m.This is well up on the equivalent figures from last year of 73.3m and 344m respectively. Net income for the six months ended 30 June 2006 reflected a similar story, hitting 325m on operating revenue of 979.4m, compared to 118.8m and 654.3m respectively for the first six months of 2005.
