Angolan blocks awarded

The awards from the first stage of the Angolan licensing round have been finalised, with Eni's massive near US 1 Bn bid being matched by the political weight pulled by China's Sinopec.Eni put in a bid of 942m for up to a 40% stake and operatorship of the remainder of deepwater Block 15 handed back by ExxonMobil - the biggest signature bonus ever. Sinopec and Sonangol in alliance offered 800m for the block.
