Aker jumps the Q

Norsk Hydro has awarded Aker Kv?rner a US 10m contract to deliver an umbilical system, including engineering and project management, for the Q development project in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.The project will use the contractor's advanced steel tube umbilical technology. Aker Kv?rner Subsea will supply a 19.5km steel tube carbon fibre enhanced umbilical, including all surface and subsea terminations, to tie the gas field back to the Independence Hub facility located in 7,874ft (2,400m) of water.
