Woodside hits Libya targets

Woodside Petroleum has hit hydrocarbon-bearing zones with its first two wells in Libya with another 17 wells planned in the next 18 months.The company, which is the third largest acreage holder in Libya, drilled the A1-NC209 well in the Sirte Basin. It is 30km north of the producing Bu Attifel oil field and reached a total depth of (4,219m). A production test confirmed the presence of an oil column, but Woodside has not given any further details.
