Hess Corp reported net income of US 297m for the third quarter of 2006, compared to 272m during the same quarter last year, despite this year's figure including a 105m charge related to a UK supplementary tax enacted in July.In the E&P sector, Hess's income was down to 206m for the quarter, compared to 235m in Q3 2005. The Q3 2006 results include dry hole costs of 152m (93m after tax), primarily associated with two deepwater Gulf of Mexico wildcats.
