DISTINGUISHED ENGINEER RECEIVES HONORARY FELLOWSHIP FROM SWANSEA UNIVERSITY

A civil engineer whose work has Flinfluenced the design of today's football stadia was made an Honorary Fellow by Swansea University during a graduation ceremony at the city's Guildhall on Wednesday 20 July. Professor Bernhard Schrefler, a former postgraduate student at Swansea University, is an expert in cable structures and wrote the code for pre-tensioned cable net at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, which received the European Convention of Steel Construction's design award in 1976.
