JOHN PARTRIDGE HONOURED WITH ACA AWARD

Speaking at the ACA Annual Dinner in April, C Paul Davis, President, outlined the diversity of activity that the ACA Council, on behalf of its members, is contributing to the architectural profession. One of the more recent initiatives is the inauguration of the ACA Award for outstanding contributions in the field of architecture. During the dinner, at which John Fidler, Conservation Director of English Heritage, was the guest speaker, the ACA Award 2005 was presented to John Partridge, founder partner of architects Howell Killick Partridge & Amis (HKPA), one of the top design practices in the 1950s and 60s. The Award was given in recognition of John Partridge's contribution to the practice and profession of Architecture and to the work of the ACA, for whom he is a founder member and past President. John Partridge also made a considerable commitment to the RIBA throughout his career; he was elected to the Royal Academy in 1980 and received a CBE in 1981.
