StatoilHydro has hit oil in its Dompap wildcat exploration well just north of the Norne field, with the find likely to be tapped as a tieback to the Norne production and storage ship.Well 6608/10-12 was drilled to a vertical depth of 10,361ft (3,158m) below sea level in 1,096ft (334m) of water and terminated in Lower Jurassic rocks of the ?re formation.
