The Association of Building Engineers recognises that there are many professionals working within the Construction Industry who hold senior positions of responsibility based on their knowledge and experience. The educational system and the move to honours degree level entry have seen many of the diploma/part-time routes to academic qualification cease. The Association provides the following routes to membership:-The Mature Entry Route (MER) has been designed and developed for individual candidates who hold a mixture of academic qualification and industrial construction experiences.
