Marathon has entered into a definitive agreement with Chinese state-owned duo CNOOC and Sinopec under which the two will buy an undivided 20% stake in Block 32 offshore Angola. The deal has a total value of US $1.3 Bn, with an effective date of 1 January 2009. Marathon will retain a 10% stake in Block 32.
