Between BREEAM accreditation, SBEM calculations and Part L requirements, sustainability has ceased to be a 'nice to have' and become a mandatory consideration for any construction project. And so it should be. The buildings we're constructing now must use less energy if we are to deliver our collective responsibility to drive down CO_2 emissions. What's more, the business case for constructing new buildings or refurbishing existing assets often relies on the amount of energy savings that new technology and renewables can offer and their inherent financial benefits.
