Exxon kicks off Libya wildcat

ExxonMobil has spudded the first deepwater exploration well offshore Libya. The A1-20/3 well is drilled by the Noble Homer Ferrington rig in Contract Area 20 in the offshore Sirte Basin. The Noble Homer Ferrington is capable of operating in water depths of up to 7,202ft (2,195m) and can drill to a depth of 30,001ft (9,144m).
