CNPC goes horizontal in China

State-owned China National Petroleum Corp(CNPC)plans to drill 100 more horizontal wells this year than it had planned,in a bid to boost production its mature oil fields,as well as developing new discoveries.CNPC has already met its target of drilling 600 horizontal wells by the end of August and is expected to drill more than 700 horizontal for the whole of 2007,the company said.
