Eni profits dip

Eni's second quarter net profit fell 1.5% due to an increase in exploration costs and warm weather cutting into demand at its gas and power division. The operator said net profit in the three months ended 30 June fell to US 3.12 Bn, compared with the same period of 2006. Oil and gas production declined 0.7% to 1.74m b/d.
