Expandable metal technology is moving inside the pipe. The future of expandable metal technology looks small - in scale, not scope. The past 10 years have seen expandable metals used in a variety of solid- and perforated-pipe-based wellbore construction and remediation applications. The logical progression for the technology is into components placed in the pipe to address specific operational challenges such as drill-in liner applications, high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT) environments and gas well development.
