BG offers 12 Bn for Origin

BG has tabled an offer of US 12.15 Bn for Australia's Origin Energy in a bid to bolster its standing in the Asia Pacific region.Origin said that BG had proposed an offer of 13.74 per Origin share,but said it had not yet fully considered the proposal.The offer is around a 40% premium to Origin's closing price of 9.79 on 29 April."Origin shareholders should take no action with respect to their Origin shares,pending further announcement,"Origin said in the statement.
