The building of the 1,200km Nord Stream gas pipeline that will link Russia and Germany could be delayed by up to a year to allow environmental tests to be taken, according to German reports. Construction on the project to bring Russian gas directly to the EU might not start until mid 2009, German newspaper Handelsblatt reported.
