StatoilHydro is looking into the commercial possibilities of producing shallow gas after an appraisal well on its Peon gas find in the North Sea was successful. The Peon discovery, which was made in 2005, is part of the Naust formation and is estimated to contain recoverable resources of 530 Bcf to 1.06 Tcf (15-30 Bcm) of gas.
