Dana Petroleum has made a significant gas discovery at Anchois in the Tanger-Larache licence offshore Morocco with its first well in the area. The Anchois-1 discovery well is located around 40km from the coast and was drilled to a total depth of 7,989ft (2,435m), said Dana. Two intervals of high quality, gas-bearing sands, were encountered in the well. The combined gas column encountered was around 295ft (90m) with roughly 131ft (40m) of net pay.
