Ecopetrol Names New Chief

Colombian national oil company Ecopetrol has named Executive Vice President Felipe Bayon to succeed current President Juan Carlos Echeverry, who has tendered his resignation. In a company statement, Ecopetrol said Echeverry will resign his post on Sep. 15 for “family reasons.” An industry source said Echeverry will be moving to Washington, DC, where his wife recently accepted a position.
