Technip has been awarded a turnkey contract by Total for the loading, transport and installation of the topsides for the Ofon Phase 2 fixed platform off Nigeria.The field is 50km off the coast at a water depth of 131ft (40m) and the contract comprises the engineering, supply of equipment required for the installation, loading of the 13,000 ton topsides onto a transport vessel, the transport of the top-sides from Hyundai Heavy Industries yard in South Korea to Nigeria and the installation of the topsides using Technip's proprietary Unideck floatover method.
