Combined approach facilitates drilling

Using WBS in tandem with MPD enabled the drilling of a well with unstable shales and depleted sands. Tapping the full potential of long-producing reservoirs often requires drilling through unstable shale formations and depleted sands, conditions that present stiff challenges for conventional drilling programs. Issues related to lost circulation and wellbore stability significantly drive up nonproductive time (NPT), impacting operators' ability to drill and complete wells economically.
