98% of existing commercial buildings in the UK are more than five years old and estimates suggest that 70% of these will still be in use in 2050, and with a massive drive to improve building management and energy efficiency, more and more commercial building owners are putting their capitaltoward green retrofits. That said, as efficiency measures are relatively simple to integrate at the planning stage, significant work is being done to reduce emissions from new build projects too, many of which include intelligent designs that incorporate renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency products, sustainability features and end-user ease of use.
