Japanese hunt Namibian Kudu

Japan's Jogmec is to pay US 400m for a stake in the Kudu gas field offshore Namibia where appraisal drilling is onging.Government-funded Jogmec will buy a 49% stake in a unit of Itochu Corp which holds a 20% stake in Kudu. Japan's government decided last year to enhance financial support for Japanese companies in energy exploration to boost the resources-poor country's energy security.
