摘要

Technology advances so quickly these days that oftentimes data such as seismic surveys are obsolete almost the moment they're gathered. So information gathered in the 1950s and '60s would seem to be virtually worthless. Not so, according to Brian Anderson, vice president of marketing for Fugro-LCT. His company brokers a gravity database that covers the Gulf of Mexico from the Florida Panhandle to Brownsville, Texas, from the beach to 600 ft (183 m) water depth. Some of the data are more than 40 years old. Yet the database generates a significant number of new data licenses every year.
