Multicomponent seismic techniques characterize lithobgy and fracture patterns in a tight gas reservoir in China. The need to increase hydrocarbon production is especially acute in China. As the country's second largest energy company, Sinopec plays a key role in addressing China's energy supply challenges. Forty percent of Sinopec's gas production is in Sichuan Province, where much of the production comes from low permeability, fractured reservoirs.
