StatoilHydro said it was the highest bidder on 23 leases in the central area lease sale in the US Gulf of Mexico (GoM). The Norwegian operator is already one of the largest leaseholders in the deepwater GoM. A total of 56 companies participated in Lease sale 208, part of the current schedule of the mineral management service (MMS) in New Orleans. StatoilHydro's winning bids are subject to review and final approval by the MMS which can take up to 90 days.
