US Cove Point deal struck

Sonatrach and StatoilHydro have signed a deal sealing a long-term partnership at the Cove Point LNG receiving terminal in the USA.Under the terms of the contract,Algeria's stateowned Sonatrach will receive access to 2 Bcm a year of regas capacity at the Cove Point terminal for 15 years from the beginning of 2009.As part of the deal,StatoilHydro will also buy 1 Bcm a year of LNG from Cove Point from 2009 to 2014.
