Apprenticeships are essential to the future wellbeing of the construction industry, Peter Hansford, the Government's Chief Construction Advisor, has told a ParLiamentary Reception. Hosted by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, the reception highlighted the importance of construction apprentices in addressing the skills shortages the industry faces. It gave MPs an opportunity to show their support for the new Apprenticeship Commission which is investigating ways of increasing the quality and quantity of construction apprentices.
