Oilex high on Oman

Oilex said it has hit oil shows with its first in a three-well exploration programme in Oman.The firm is operator of Block 56 and spudded the Sarha-1 exploration well on 31 December 2007.It is on the eastern flank of the South Oman Salt Basin adjacent to several producing fields.Several of the fields in this area hold more than 500m bbl of oil in place.Most of these fields were discovered by Petroleum Development Oman during the last 20 years.
