摘要

A function to estimate maximum crop evapotranspiration from the daily values of reference ET and the time course of leaf area index (LAI) during the crop cycle is presented and experimentally tested as applied to kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus) in a two-year trial. The equation correctly interpreted the evaporation process from an ecophysiological point of view. Directions are given for the calculation of crop coefficients, to account for the variability of their values from year to year and during thecrop season.
