ARUP ASSOCIATE WINS YOUNG CONSULTANT OF THE YEAR PRIZE

Arup associate Sarah Bowden has seen off stiff competition from a record number of entries to win the 2006 Young Consultant of the Year Award. Bowden was presented with a certificate and a cheque for 1,000 pounds as she picked up the award, now in its 19th year, at an industry lunch at Claridges. The judging panel commented that this year's winner is an excellent ambassador for the profession. Sarah has shown an ability to push the boundaries and generate awareness of consultancy and engineering in the wider industry. A member of ACE's Progress Network for young consultants and engineers, Sarah's winning submission for the award focused on consultancy and engineering in the information age, where she discussed the impact this will have on the construction industry.
