Prince Edward Island looks at mandatory e-cycling

Canada's smallest province, Prince Edward Island, may end up with an extended producer responsibility (EPR) e-scrap management program if a recently- introduced bill passes. Bill 85 sets up an EPR e-scrap program for the island province, funded by fees paid at the time of purchase of new electronics. PEI government said it wouh work with the Atlantic Canada Electronics Stewardship (ACES) to set up and manage the program, which would be modeled after the Nova Scotia program, launched February 2008.
