Yet, new laws, and a changing e-scrap landscape, are posing challenges to Goodwill's established program. Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette (GICW), located in Portland, Oregon, has emerged as one of the strongest e-scrap collection programs in the country. But how did the organization rise to such heights and how does it plan to stay on top? The donors are extremely generous. The business model is sound. The retail revenues are growing. But the real work is far from over, because, in today's day and age, finding the proper location to discard unused electronics is just as important as providing a great shopping experience for discount shoppers. Re-use, in all areas, is the main focus for the GICW.
