TELECOMMUNICATION OPPORTUNITIES IN STATE ELECTRICITY BOARDS -- MSEB'S VIEW POINT

SEB's main Infrastructure is in the form of power stations established at strategic locations depending on the availability of coal, gas or hydel resources and the EHV lines transmitting power to EHV substations located nearby the load centres. In addition SEBs have their installation, in some form or the other, almost down to the level of big villages throughout the State. In order to ensure proper functioning of the power system, energy control centres are generally established at a few strategic locations preferably nearby administrative offices. For day to day monitoring operations and control of the, power system and administration of SEBs following communication facilities are required.
