Call2Recycle rebrands, collects record volume

Call2Recycle, a North American product stewardship organization for batteries and mobile phones, collected a record 10 million pounds of batteries in 2012 — a 16 percent increase from the previous year. The industry-led organization, which administers a voluntary stewardship program through a network of over 30,000 retailers, municipalities, businesses and public agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada, attributes its success to banner years in California and Canada, both of which collected over 1 million pounds.
