Brian Lawes and Paul Honeyman of Glow-worm gave an interesting presentation on Lower carbon - lower costs at Kingsway Centre, Scunthorpe, on Thursday 23 February 2012. The presentation was in two parts covering legislation and then the solutions. Brian went through the legislation and background. He started with the link between climate change, fuel security and fuel poverty. In 2004, 6.6 million people were in fuel poverty. This is where more than 10% of the annualincome is spent on heating the home. The 26 million housing stock in the UK is old, with 50% more than 50 years old and 20% more than 100 years old.
