In recent years, the pressure to improve the efficiency of buildings has significantly increased, partly due to a number of sustainable regulations and Government targets coming into force, but also due to a raised awareness of environmental issues within the general public. Key to achieving these targets is ensuring all new buildings are constructed and insulated to a high standard. Although genuinely sustainable building methods have largely remained absent from modern mainstream construction, advances in new sustainable technologies have led to the development of high performance systems which can compete with, and often outperform, conventional building systems.
