BATH ENGINEERS WIN GOLD STANDARD CABE AWARD FROM ENERGY SAVING SOUTHAMPTON HOUSING SCHEME

The Chapel Housing Scheme, Southampton, has been awarded a CABE Building for Life Gold Award. The mix .of privately owned dwellings and affordable housing designed by Chetwood Associates Architects, is a development for the Swaythling Housing Society. The scheme made headlines when consulting engineers King Shaw Associates secured DTI funding for a 75kW photovoltaic array, generating enough solar electricity to save over 30 tonnes of Co_2 annually. The balance of funding for the photovoltaic installation was provided by the South East of England Development Agency.
