Assolombarda, together with a group of entrepreneurs and managers representing small, medium and large companies are placing their bets on the green economy, forming the Organizing Committee of the Green Economy Network. The association has surveyed and mapped all businesses in the Milan area that operate in different sectors of the green economy. The data has shown that the Milan area is of absolute importance when it comes to energy and environmental expertise: there are about 400 companies operating in green economy sectors (air, water, soil and drainage, waste, external noise, environmentally friendly products, renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable mobility) with a global turnover of more than 50 billion euros and 25 000 employees in the province of Milan alone.
