OFFSITE 2007

Monday 11 June saw the official launch of the four-day Offsite 2007 at the Building Research Establishment (BRE), Garston, Watford. Central to the event was The Big Build - a large outdoor area filled with full-scale real buildings and exhibits, and a demonstration area where innovative technologies and intelligent systems were on show. Yvette Cooper, Minister for Housing and Planning, gave a keynote speech which launched five demonstration buildings that are world-leading in sustainable design and construction. Using some of the very latest innovations in construction technologies and materials, these buildings all address the 'zero carbon' challenge.
