摘要

The characteristics of magnetic field, flow field, temperature profile and inclusion trajectories in a round billet continuous casting mould with electromagnetic stirring (M-EMS) were numerically simulated. An industrial plant trial was conducted to verify the magnetic field characteristics and investigate the influence of M-EMS on the solidification macrostructure of high carbon steel. The results indicate that the predicted magnetic field was in good agreement with the measured data, and the velocity patterns, temperature, inclusion trajectory distributions and macrostructure of steel are significantly modified using M-EMS during casting.
