History delays water treatment project

A search for an ancient technology, in this case arrowheads at least 1,000 years old, is delaying construction of a modern-day technological wonder, the world's largest ultraviolet water-treatment plant designed to eradicate dangerous parasites from Westchester's and New York City's drinking water. Nine stone projectile points were found last spring during an archaeological survey of the UV plant's construction site just southwest of the Westchester County Grasslands Reservation. That has triggered a search for additional artifacts — and the delays.
