The TRUMPF press brake fleet has a new member, the TruBend.3180. It is the new flagship of the mid-class Series 3000, as it is the largest of the three models. The highlight of the TruBend 3180 is a new crowning system that uses hydraulic cylinders, combined with a self-acting crowning technique. The five centrally-positioned hydraulic cylinders are automatically adjusted based on an empirical database. Individual crowning values are calculated based on material thickness, bending length and material strength. For station bending, the crowning system can easily be switched off using a lever that disables crowning via a rigid wedge.
