Bijan Zangeneh, the Iranian Minister of Petroleum referred to oil and natural gas as being at the top of the agenda for the Russian and Iranian trade and economic ties. He stated that the co-operation of the two countries in the fields of oil and natural gas both in bilateral form and within the framework of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to be of special importance for the stabilisation of the international oil markets.
